New Director, Associate Director and Unit Heads

Prof. Aly El-Bahrawy, Professor of Hydraulics at ASU. He is also the head of the Center for Enhancing Writing, Analysis and Presentation Skills. He resumed the responsibility of the Director of the New Engineering Programs since September 15th 2008. Prof. El-Bahrawy obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1985 from McMaster University (Canada). Since then, he published around 40 conference papers and 20 journal papers. He also conducted several training programs in the areas of water resources, technical writing, computer applications, and communication skills

Dr. Abdel Wahab El-Ghandour, Associate Professor of Structural Engineering (RC Concrete Structures) at ASU. He was the Unit Head of the Building Engineering Program during the academic year 07-08. He resumed the responsibility of the Associate Director of the New Engineering Programs since September 15th 2008. Dr. El-Ghandour obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2000 from the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom). Since then, he published around 20 conference papers and 11 journal papers.

  Unit Heads

Dr. Bahaa Tork, Associate Professor of Structural Engineering (Structural Analysis) at ASU. He resumed the responsibility of the Unit Head for the Building Engineering Program since September 15th 2008. Dr. Tork obtained his Ph.D. in 1999 from the Polytechnique University of Madrid (Spain).

Dr. Amr Safwat, Associate Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering (Microwave Engineering) at ASU. He resumed the responsibility of the Unit Head for the Communication Systems Engineering Program since September 15th 2008. Dr. Safwat obtained his Ph.D. in 2001 from the University of Maryland at College Park (USA).

Dr. Tayseer Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Design and Production Engineering (Mechanical Measurement) at ASU. He resumed the responsibility of the Unit Head for the Manufacturing Engineering Program since October 1st 2008. Dr. Ahmed obtained his Ph.D. in 2002 from the Ain Shams University (Egypt).

Dr. Iman Taha, Assistant Professor of Design and Production Engineering (Materials Engineering) at ASU. She resumed the responsibility of the Unit Head for the Material Engineering Program since October 1st 2008. Dr. Taha obtained her Ph.D. in 2007 from the Clausthal University of Technology (Germany).
